Welcome to “Vacation and Travel Tips for Seniors”, a place where adventure meets wisdom and the thrill of discovery is only a click away. My name is Ruth Nisenbaum and I am here to share my passion for travel, my experiences, and my insights, specially crafted for the seniors who crave the wonder of new places and cultures.

My journey with travel started with my late husband, Roberto. We were fortunate to share many remarkable journeys together, creating a treasure trove of memories and enriching our lives beyond measure. His spirit lives on with me, especially when I’m exploring new destinations, he’s there in the rustle of the leaves, the wave of the sea, the chatter of the local markets.

After Roberto passed away, the thought of embarking on a solo journey seemed challenging. But as I continued our legacy of wanderlust, I discovered an aspect of travel that is often overlooked: its healing power. I found that being in a new environment, meeting people, immersing myself in different cultures, and learning new things are all forms of therapy that have helped me through my process of grief.

And so, I took the plunge and decided to make travel a priority, leading me to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain in May 2023. The experience was a turning point. Not only did I realize that I could still enjoy these trips, but I also discovered that I had so much knowledge and experience to share with others.

The mission of this website is to ensure that no senior feels hesitant or unprepared to step out into the world. Whether it’s about selecting the right accommodations, setting a practical budget, choosing suitable insurance, planning a fitting itinerary, or making transportation arrangements, I’ve got you covered.

Throughout my travel journey, I’ve learnt the importance of aligning travel experiences with personal interests. Whether you’re interested in sightseeing, immersing yourself in local culture, meeting locals, or tasting indigenous cuisines, here you will find the right tips and advice.

Traveling is not just about seeing new places, it’s about experiencing life in its full grandeur. I encourage all seniors to embrace travel as an avenue for personal growth, intellectual stimulation, social interaction, and most importantly, sheer joy. Remember, age is no barrier to the thrill of exploration.

I hope this website serves as a guide, a companion, and a nudge to step out and explore the world around you. Because it’s never too late to embark on a new journey and create a world of memories.

So, join me on this journey as we learn, explore, and enjoy together. Happy traveling!

Sincerely,
Ruth Nisenbaum
